'temporarily released energy is transformed into a permanent physical form. just like in traditional sculpture. energy does not disappear - it changes. this transfer of energy is made clear by the application of ice as the medium for sound storage.' [nik hummer]

the visual artist claudia märzendorfer nik hummer -- a member of the well-known electronic formation thilges3 from vienna -- on his analogue synthesizer. the ice crystals produce particularly mellow, full and natural tones.

the artists put new records on over and over again. the more music they play, the more discs lay around them. the storage media melts into a temporary sculpture.
