hörspiel, feature, radiokunst aus vergangenheit, gegenwart und zukunft des mediums
	radio days describes the great era of radio invoked in woody allen's film of the same title. it was a time when listeners sat at home by their receivers, enthralled, transported to a world beyond their own: into the far reaches of outer space, the depths of new york, the plains of the wild west, the sphere of imagination beyond pictures, as they appeared in early cinema. radio days -- days of a medium which reached into the lives of its listeners 'like a smoking habit', as adorno once put it. in the 50's and 60's, as the rising competition from television threatened radio's future, the radio days take on a different hue. they change from reminiscence into metaphor -- often for bold and exciting experiments: whether it be ernst schnabel's radio days, which capture socioanalytic moments in the life of germany, or the radio days with which the hessische rundfunk parted from the monotony of daily programming in favor of larger themes. with this month's theme, radiotesla takes advantage of the opportunity to present radio projects of impressive dimensions. november promises to be a long month.

[berlin], aber auch ungehörtes und eigenwilliges. viele dieser stücke hört man sonst nie im radio - oder wenn, dann nur nachts und mit glück. pressplay präsentiert 20 hörspiele in viereinhalb stunden: beteiligt sind hermann bohlen, antje vowinckel, stella luncke & josef maria schäfers, robert weber, tom heithoff, britta steffenhagen, mia frimmer, anja penner, jens jarisch und viele andere.

	radio tesla presents programs, fragments and impressions from the past, present and future of radio. as an integral part of the schedule at tesla im podewils'schen palais, the series explores the artistic and historical dimensions of the medium of radio, which was, after all, invented by nikola tesla himself. radio tesla is presented every wednesday evening at eight-thirty, admission is free. each month is dedicated to a specific theme, and each evening concentrates on one genre: on the first wednesday of the month, a radio play or other fictional work is offered. the following week, the focus is on features and other non-fiction. the third wednesday is reserved for ars acustica and radio art, and on the fourth wednesday of the month, labeled "grenzen" ("borders"), unconventional, uncensored independent forms will be offered. In months which have a fifth wednesday, a "bonus track" will take the month's theme one step further.
